You'd be amazed how good product images will increase your conversions. Even though online purchases are increasing at an accelerated rate, your typical customer is still used to being able to touch and feel the product they are shopping for. So when it comes to shopping online, you want to get as close to that experience as you can.
Here are 3 tips to help do that:
1. Whenever possible, show multiple images of your product. Show different angles and show the product being used - even better is to have a video of the product in action.
2. Have at least one of the images show just the product on a white background. This makes the image look professional and keeps your potential buyer from getting distracted.
3. Keep all your product images consistent in size, so the category/collection page is easy to navigate and isn't cluttered which would make it difficult for your potential customer.
Once you've made your changes, check back in a month or so and I promise you will see an increase in your conversions.
Also, if you already have too much to do and need help with #2 and #3,Pixchas very affordable solutions for editing images. They also have an app that will resize all your images at no cost!
I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts the other day and heard something quite interesting from Jordan Koene of Search Metrics. I recommend that you check out the podcast in its entirety to get the full context, but here is one quote that was intriguing: "speed is such a powerful competitive advantage that maybe suboptimal content will become higher ranked because it’s faster." (In case you hadn't heard, Google announced this past July that page speed was now a ranking factor for mobile searches.)
